Dr. Angelo Mallozzi
Medical Director

Dr. Angelo Mallozzi, a physician with Stamford Health Medical Group, oversees the medical aspects of Sub-Acute Rehabilitation at Edgehill. He is a medical school graduate of the University of Rome, Italy, and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Through his long association with Edgehill, he developed a deep awareness and understanding of unique issues relating to aging and senior care. At Edgehill, we are proud to have our exceptional Medical Director ranked among the top doctors in Connecticut. A family medicine specialist, he was recognized as one of the state’s "Top Docs" by Connecticut Magazine in 2017.

Dr. Erwin Richter
Physiatrist, US News Doctor Specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Dr. Erwin Richter is a physiatrist who specializes in helping patients with disabilities or severe injuries such as muscle, bone, soft tissue or nervous system injuries. His main focus is Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to ensure restoration of functionality and a return to a high quality of life. He earned a degree in biology from Harvard College in 1983, and graduated from New York University School of Medicine in 1987. He completed his residency training at New York University at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine. He is an Associate Professor of Rehabilitation at Stamford Hospital and was previously Associate Clinical Director of the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation. 

Dr. Edward Schuster

Dr. Edward Schuster specializes in all aspects of cardiology and has received many honors, including U.S., Connecticut and Westchester “Best Doctors.”

Sandra Bardsley
Administrator and Director of Clinical Care

Sandee Bardsley is the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and Director of Clinical Operations for Edgehill.  Sandee has extensive experience in the health care arena holding positions such as Director of Nursing Quality and Acute Rehab at Stamford Hospital, Executive Director of Skilled Nursing Facilities and the CEO of a VNHC a Home Care Agency.  She holds an Associate’s Degree from Pace University, a Bachelor’s Degree from Merrimack College, and is currently enrolled in the Master’s in Gerontology-Management of Aging Services at the University of Massachusetts.  She is a Clinical Quality Fellow with the Greater New York Hospital Association and is Board Certified in Gerontology.

David Herrera
Director of Nursing

Born in Ecuador, where he was a radio and TV personality, David Herrera completed three years of medical school in Ecuador before emigrating to the U.S. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Nursing and is currently enrolled in the master’s program for Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners. He is certified as an Infection Control Specialist by the State of Connecticut and is a wound care specialist.

Dawn Pelazza
Director of Memory Care and Assisted Living

Dawn Pelazza is a Registered Nurse who earned her nursing degree at Excelsior College. In addition to her 25 years of health care experience, she is a Licensed EMT–Basic. Dawn holds certifications in Infection Control, Wound Care, and as a Dementia Practitioner. She is a Alzheimer’s Association-certified “Train the Trainer,” as well as an active volunteer and committee member. Dawn received the “Caregiver of Excellence” award from the Alzheimer’s Association twice. She founded the support group “Forget Me Not” for caregivers of those with dementia, which received a grant from the Paul Newman Foundation. She also is co-president of the Western Connecticut Chapter of the Infection Control Nurses of Connecticut (ICNC).

Marisol Vega, LMSW
Director of Social Work

Marisol Vega is a Licensed Master of Social Work who earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration. She has extensive experience working in Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs). Prior to her career in social work at Edgehill, she worked with children and families.

Carissa Ronish
Programming Coordinator

Carissa Ronish is the Health Center Programming Coordinator for Edgehill. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy & Counseling from the College of New Rochelle. Her experience includes applying Art & Recreation Therapy techniques with children, adult psychiatric and geriatric. Carissa is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
